Papa Moco Jumbie

Noggin's Music Time has us hooked on this song!
It's really catchy and once it gets in your noggin, it's hard to get out!

I know it's not the greatest of clips, but it is the best one out there right now. For some odd reason, Noggin hasn't officially released it yet.

I've learned the little boy singing is 10 year old actor, Khamani Griffin who has appeared in a few movies and shows. Don't know if it's true, but I hear The Moco Jumbie show is scheduled for the Fall and will be about a boy and his father bonding during carnival time!

KeanaLee, Candiss, bd92686, and Jennifer-

Thanks for your comments! It is now months after I initially posted about this great Noggin song- and we still turn the volume way up when it appears on the TV! Still lovin' it! :)

Radha-

Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment! As you can see, there are some big fans anticipating the release of the song on Noggin as well as of the upcoming show. We look forward to it!

MOCO JUMBIE LYRICS
It’s carnival time, in my town today
So papa and I get our costumes ready
Oh I cannot wait for everybody to see
When papa stands on his stilts he becomes a Moco Jumbie
My papa’s a Moco Jumbie, stand tall as the eyes can see
I wish I was tall as daddy, he dances to bring harmony
(Come on son dance with me)
I know I may be small, but I wish I was tall
So for the carnival day, I could Moco Jumbie highway
My papa’s a Moco Jumbie, stand tall as the eyes can see
I wish I was tall as daddy, he dances to bring harmony
I know I may be small, but I wish I was tall
So for the carnival day, I could Moco Jumbie highway
My papa’s a Moco Jumbie, stand tall as the eyes can see
I wish I was tall as daddy, he dances to bring harmony
(Come on son dance with me)
And while I may be small, we came up with a way
So for the carnival day, I could Moco Jumbie highway
My papa’s a Moco Jumbie, stand tall as the eyes can see
He dances to bring harmony, and now he is dancing with me
And while I may be small, we came up with a way
So for the carnival day, I can Moco Jumbie highway
In with Papa today, dancing down the carnival way.

The lyrics are so cute!
Thanks for posting Maria!

I just wanted to correct a couple of spots- for instance, 'highway' is suppose to be 'my way'.

It’s carnival time, in my town today
So papa and I get our costumes ready
Oh I cannot wait for everybody to see
When papa stands on his stilts he becomes a Moco Jumbie
My papa’s a Moco Jumbie, stands tall as the eyes can see

So for the carnival day, I could Moco Jumbie my way
My papa’s a Moco Jumbie, stands tall as the eyes can see
He dances to bring harmony, and now he's dancing with me
And while I may be small, we came up with a way
So for the carnival day, I can Moco Jumbie my way
Me and my Papa today, dancing down the carnival way.

OMG, I really hope that is true as well. My 4 year old and my 2 year old love it, (truth be told, so does mommy ssshhhhh). I am sure there will be other songs, if there is really in fact a show coming out, and I would surely purchase a CD with this song and other carnival songs on it for them to enjoy.

@Candiss

I know! We're already way into Fall and nothing! I just saw the video/music clip the other day so atleast it's still out there. I do find it strange though- still nothing on the website either. Perhaps it's just gotten pushed back some.

I wish someone associated with the show would comment again ;)

Well I ran across this blog googling the lyrics, and I must say for starters I hope the rumor is true my nephews (ages 2 and 1) both love the song, they could be in the next room and hear the song come on in a totally different room and come running to the television. And secondly I secretly love the song myself and would love to see a program backed by such a creative song, that would be nice!

Is it dances to bring Harmony or Bring Home money?

My wife, too, loves this song and sings it to my son whenever it comes on :)

Thanks for commenting! It is a great tune :)
I'm not sure what the hold up is on the show...I hope they haven't changed their minds!?

To Anonymous: It's "bring harmony".

My 13 month old daughter and I love this song too. I would be happy if there was a show coming. Nick Jr. does a good job of showing different cultures like with Dora and Ni Hao Kai-Lan. It would be nice to see a show about this culture too.

Lyrics correction!!! It's "Moco Jumbie my way" not Highway" and it's "Bring Home money" not "bring harmony".

OMG... I JUST SAW THE VIDEO ON NICKJR!
MY 2 YEAR OLD IS STILL UP WATCHING TV. I AM SOOO TIRED, AND AM WISHING HE GOES TO SLEEP..... THEN.... THIS COMES ON AND HERE I AM AT 12:30 (BOSTON TIME), IN THE MORNING DANCING WITH MY SON IN THE LIVINGROOM!!!
I LOVE THIS. IS THERE A CD THAT THIS SONG CAN BE FOUND ON???
